It’s that time of the year, water temps are ideal for the annual bluefin run. Several have been landed in morehead and we are looking for these giants to make a showing here within the next week or so. let’s get ready to welcome them.
Bluefin Tuna
December 13th, 2009Black Sea Bass
October 5th, 2009
As of today, Monday Oct 5, NOAA announced the temporary closure of the black sea bass in the federal waters North of Cape Hatteras for 180 days.
This doesn’t effect us locally but if you are planning to go to the Outer Banks be informed.
Maybe they should lower the size back down so that you can keep what you catch, but limit more closely how many to keep? Who knows, that’s why I cannot stay behind a desk.
Fall Fishing in Full Swing
October 4th, 2009Fall fishing is in full swing! The kings have started feeding along with the spanish and the sails. Mahi and wahoo are out at the stream and the grouper bite is excellent. This weeks seas are calm and beautiful. Don’t pass up on this weather!
Like playing ‘baseball’
August 4th, 2009Today we had a 3/4 day trip with Chad Budreau and frinds, and did it fell good to be back at it again. The morning was great with four boats heading out to the same location. We broke off and went a few more miles to the west to start at the horseshoe while others were at the Raritan. After a while with no strikes we decided to move to another location, within a few minutes we landed our first king then nothing. Just when we were about to make the call to head home one of the reels went off, then another, then another. A triple, which is unsual for august, but landed two more kings and one dolphin. A few mommets later a little tunny which put up one heck of a fight. Just like a baseball game, nothing happens till the 9th inning, making it a great day!
Mission Statement
August 3rd, 2009After last weeks high winds I would like to let everyone know our mission statement.
1. First & foremost is the safety of our passengers, crew and our vessel.
2. Have a good time! Does it matter if you catch a fish if it is a miserable trip?
3. Catch Fish! We give our all on the water to let our customers have the thrill of offshore fishing. We fish year round, from 1 mile off the beach to our speciality the gulfstream.
blowing
July 30th, 2009As the winds continue to blow, we have been land locked all week long. The good news is that the start of next week is shaping up good with 2 to 4 ft. seas. Much better than 5 and 6 foot. The fish should be hungry with the best action occuring in the 80 foot range of water.
weather
July 28th, 2009There has been nothing to report for the past couple of days. We have had to cancel out 4 days in a row due to the high south winds. As soon as it is fishable we ‘ll be there, until then it’s making more rigs, mowing grass and other honey do list. (please stop blowing, get us out of the house)
Still Here
July 23rd, 2009
As the east winds blew and the late July water temps. climb, the fish have just gotten plain lazy. As these pics will testify, they are still here we just have to work harder to find them and be very patient.
We had a 3/4 day trip Wed. where we fished in 70 foot of water. It was a slow morning but picked up later. We managed to boat 3 nice Kings and a great Mahi-Mahi. Thanks guys for a great trip!
Wahoo
July 17th, 2009We had the pleasure of taking the DeBlasio family to the gulfstream looking for some action. The morning started slow so we picked up and moved east. Within minutes of trolling the line was sreaming as a wahoo busted out of the water and slammed our plug. We managed to land a couple of the toothy monsters before heading back to the docks.
BACK ON
July 17th, 2009We are now back up and running on the fishing report, the site was down for awile but we are back.
thanks
